My Three Cubs!

My Three Cubs!
When we found out I was Pregnant Dustin asked if we could name our child after the Chicago Cubs. I laughed! When Gracie was born Mark Grace was so fitting for her. Beautiful Gracie. Not to mention the night she was born Mark Grace had one heck of a ball game. 2 Years later we had our Son. I struggled on what to name him. Randy said use a "D" name,” D-Hall just like his Dad". Tommy suggested the name Dawson. I loved the name Dawson immediately! Dawson-Andre Dawson that is. 2 years went by and we had another baby girl. I was having a name dilema because I didn't want to be restricted to a baseball roster. I loved the name Marlie and Ryan, Dustin suggested Ryne Sandburg! And there you have it Marlie Ryne Hall. Our Three Cubs!

I hope as soon as I get this first Blog posted I wont be so overwhelemed with creating a Blog...I hope! A few months ago I was at my Sweet friend Angi Pettersons house. She shared some of her Mom's diary with me. It really moved me! I have not stoped thinking about how neat it was that her Mother took the time to keep a journal. So, for my kids and my family this is my way to journal for you.

Pumpkin Carving!

October 26, 2008

PUMPKIN CARVING! Sunday I was talking on the phone to Melanee and I said we haven't carved pumpkins yet...I said do you want to carve on Monday, busy...she said Tuesday, busy...Wednesday, busy...Thursday, busy... Melanee said she was making funeral potatoes; I had pork chops in the fridge. We threw a meal together and carved Pumpkins.

Riley was the only one that would touch the Pumpkin slime.

Melanee was helping Gracie with the Pumpkin guts because Grace was freaked out over the guts.

Dawsons face "Pumpkin slime"

Dawson would grin when I would say "pumpkin guts"

Marlie wanted to use the knife herself...grumpy face

Dad stoped watching Football...Dawson and Dad made a cool face, they traced a pattern from the internet

Gracie and Riley carved all by their selves

The boys carved awesome Pumpkins too!

It was a little hectic, Rushton and Gracie battled a little, Marlie spilled the whole bag of Chocolate chips on the floor (After I told her she couldn't have any), Dawson and Rush were playing and crashed into each other nearly cracked their heads open... but over all we had a great time.

BUT GOSH DARN IT MY KIDS HAVE PICTURES AND PROOF THAT THEY CARVED PUMPKINS IN 2008!

Grandma Connie came to check out the kids pumpkins.

That is cute!!! Can you believe the adventure and mess involved with pumpkin carving. Loved that you put in the little mishaps that went with it. Somehow, even though they're frustrating at the time, they make for the best laughs later. I just couldn't do the carving this year (although I love it). Check out our cool pumpkin tattoo faces on my blog. Hope you guys had a fun Halloween!!!

I honestly can't decide if i like to carve pumpkins or not. Odd sounding, I know. I must just like the outcome of it. I had great intentions this year to do it with/for the kids. My sister was in town and what better way to spend an afternoon with Aunt Michelle. I think I remembered an errand or two and took off. I came back and was excited to see that they were done. :)

Cute pictures of the kids. Fun memories!

Amy, hope you do not mind me checking out out your blog. This entry warmed my heart. How wonderful to be so close to family. What an amazing picture of your mom and the grandkids. Way to go carving pumpkins. We do those traditions for the kids even with all the work and pain that goes into it. You rock. Way to go.
